Sindisiwe was only in 2nd grade when she learned that some people are evil. She was raped by four different men, causing her to be terrified to leave her homestead.
She quit attending school, refusing to go out anymore. Thankfully, a neighbor who was a preschool teacher taught her to read and speak English. The first night in her new home, she was eagerly reading the children’s Bibles we’d recently given the younger girls. School doesn't seem to be an option for her, so we have a young woman from the church tutoring her.
Sindisiwe is incredibly thankful to be part of the Shepherd's Care family, having been rescued in March, 2023. We’ll do our best to make sure she has the tools she needs to be able to provide for herself by the time she leaves the home.
