Nkosingiphile has been an active member of the church and youth group that meets on the GSM site where Shepherd’s Care Home and Little Lambs Preschool are built. She has a twin sister named Siphiwosami. We’ve enjoyed hearing both of them sing at church, and they’ve attended the rallies we’ve had on site.
Their mother has six children with different fathers. She works at a timber company a great distance from the homestead, but she tries to visit at the end of each month. Their father is deceased. The children stay with their grandmother and other relatives. We just received word that Nkosingiphile has withdrawn and doesn’t even want to attend church anymore. Her sister told our housedad, who’s the pastor on site, that there’s a lot of abuse at home.
Nkosingiphile was in Form 3 in 2020. We’re waiting to see if she passed her external exams so she can be promoted to Form 4 this year. She has a sponsor for half of her fees and needs someone who will provide the other ½ at $25/mo.
